Par Three Tee Renovation and Expansion Update #7

The contractor, McDonald and Sons, has completed their portion of the work and demobilized Friday. All that is left to do is the stacked field stones in front of the retaining walls on #6 and #13 plus leveling of any irrigation valve covers. Our seasonal staff returns in the next few weeks and there are several very good stone masons amongst them who have been doing the stacked stone work here at Fieldstone for quite some time. Once complete the block retaining walls will not be seen.

Usable teeing space on #6 and #13 has been doubled.

We have gained 50% more tee space on #16, added some length and created an area where different angled shots need to be played into the green.

Par Three Tee Renovation and Expansion Update #6

We've had a busy week construction wise with things wrapping up quickly.

Tee mix installation was completed on all tees.

Sodding has begun this morning.

The sod is being kept inside to prevent it from freezing. Hope to be completed by the end of the day on Thursday.

Par Three Tee Renovation and Expansion Update #5

We were fortunate to have the weather cooperate with us last week and was able to install drainage on #6 and #13 Blue tees.

Once drainage was completed the tee rootzone mix installation began on #6 and #13 Blue tees.

This mix is spread to a depth of 6 inches underneath what will be the teeing area. To ensure quality this rootzone mix has been tested for several different characteristics including particle size, sand fractions, saturated conductivity and moisture retention.

The back tee on #16 has had irrigation installed and will have drainage installed today.

If the weather holds out we may have the project completed within a week.

Par Three Tee Renovation and Expansion Update #4

With Tuesday and Wednesday being ideal working days weather wise McDonald and Sons has managed to get lots done. Things have really taken shape in regards to the earth movement and contouring.

Here the mini-excavator operator is cutting an edge on #13 tee. A 6 inch cavity is dug out where the teeing surface will be and a special rootzone mixe (which is currently stored in the upper parking lot) will be placed.

Work is progressing very nicely on #16 Blue/Black tee.

The next steps are to install drainage, then irrigation and finally the rootzone for the teeing areas.

Par Three Tee Renovation and Expansion Update #3

The back portion of #13 blue tee was able to be cut this week resulting in greater tee space. Between the front and now the back both being expanded the following picture gives a preview of just how much tee space we will gain from this project.

The next step is the digging of the footer for the back wall on #13 tee.

This wall will be a retaining wall but like the front retaining wall will be faced with the field stone that was removed and therefore look the same as the other walls on the course.

As always Pinki keeps a close eye on the progress making sure all is done correctly.

Par Three Tee Renovation and Expansion Update #2

The front retaining wall is now complete and has allowed us to gain a lot of extra space for #6 and #13 tees.

The gravel you see just before the wall is a drainage line that will catch any water before it reaches the wall.

Please remember that this wall will be faced with the field stone which was originally there and the blocks will therefore not be seen.
